Back to the drawing board
Hi friends, for right now it does'nt look like I'll be getting the DVR in time for CSI's premiere in two weeks.I'm sad and frustrated , I do'nt have $ 200 to buy one brand new at Circuit City or Best Buy not to mention paying someone there to come hook it up for me here, another $ 80 - $100 , I went on the CSI message board and begged them all if someone could record the first episode for me on a disk on Sept 27'th, I got 2 responses saying watch it on innertube, yeah maybe if my computer was more modern I could, besides I much prefer watching something on TV rather then on the computer, I called Comcast today and I should have known renting a DVR was not what I thought, the gal on the phone told me it would be $ 11.95 for 6 months and then after that I would have to upgrade my cable and pay more each month, I was 'nt banking on that, ugh so much for that idea, I may just have to go back to the dark ages and buy a V.C.R. at this point, are they running pretty cheap nowadays ? Hope you all have a good Friday, I'm bummed but I'll live, I Love You All Lisa XOXO

Lisa,
Is Comcast your only option?
I've never heard that you would have to upgrade.
Why won't you be able to watch the show? Won't you be home or do you just want a copy?
Hope it all works out for you, I know how much you are waiting for this episode.
Love,
Donna
we have ours through mediacom...we dont have comcast out here...it does get pretty expensive but i cannot afford to buy one...guess after paying monthly for one i could...
i hope that you have a good night
I would tape if for you if I could but we dont have a working vcr :(

I'm sorry Lisa. Everyones cable deals are different. I guess I'm lucky here in Mayberry. IF I can ever figure out how to hook up this VHS to my stuff I would do if for you in a heartbeat.
I'm going to pay my bill tomorrow so I will ask them what do I do I hate being stupid about this stuff, but I think the problem is my tv doesn't have enough plug in holes to do it or I don't have the right cords something. I'm sure it will end up being simple.
Take care and Hugs, Chrissie
Do they still sell vcr's? Renting a dvr isn't that expensive, I think you ought to reconsider. Anyway, don't stress over it. Take care.
Phil
I have an old VCR that I tape stuff on.
Hope you get someone to record it for you, I'd hate you to miss it. grrrr
Keeping my fingers crossed for you.
Hugs,
Sugar

If I ever even THINK of getting a DVR I'll slap myself and remember what you've gone through.

Sorry you are having such a time with the DVR. It isn't that much money to have one and if you go and pick one up at there office and put it in yourself there will be no service call. Good luck. Luv ya.
Allison
I still have a VCR that works fine . Get one!
Good luck
Ellen
I just replace my daughters VCR for $under $50. It's a really nice one with a dvd player. Emmi
That sucks about a DVR. Yes, VCRs are still around and pretty cheap now. Enjoy your weekend.
Missie
Wait, did the Comcast chick tell you HOW much it will go up after 6 months? Maybe it is managable. Ask if they have a deal for first time users...i can NOT imagine it is a huge amount you'd have to pay....mine is not....please talk to them again if you can.
Love,lisa
Hey! I still record this from a cassette! I'm out of date too, Lisa, but who gives a crap! Whatever works, right?? You want to be able to watch and safe episodes of CSI, so get a VCR. You should be able to get one really cheap nowadays!
Hugs
