My new blood pressure pills are'nt working

Hi friends, I was at Long's Drugs yesterday and I decided to take my blood pressure just to see if it was any lower since I started taking the pills almost two weeks ago, it was really high 141 , so I guess my new pills are'nt working, it frustrates me that my new pills now have no side effects and they are'nt working out, guess I'll be calling my doctor tommorow or going to see her tommorow, I Love You All Lisa XO

Is 141 the top number or bottom number? I took mine at CVS Pharmacy the other day and it was 134/103. Top number is perfect, it's the 103 I am worried about. I take 2 different BP medicines a day, Lotrel 20mg and Micardis 80mg. Yes get doctor to check your BP. Hope the pills work or something else will for you. ((((((hugs)))))))

i HATE it that you are having these frustrating things happen over and over with your health and the pills. Make sure you call and get your results too...damn doctors need to keep YOU up to date on all this!

What was the bottom #?  That's the one you have to worry about.  If it's 99 or so, than you need to worry.

You should get a BP machine.  They don't cost too very much, and then you can take your BP at different times.  It does fluctuate during the day.  Depending on what you are doing, it can go up and down.  Mine is always high when I'm in the doctors office.  Always 140/90.  Later on, I will take it at home and it's 120/70... so.. there you go.  I get white coat syndrome! lol
It's good that you are keeping track of it though!

I'm with everyone else get a machine. They aren't expensive. That way you can keep track at home. I had to get one while KT was pregnant because they wanted to keep a watch on her.
Call the doctor... they make more meds. You'll finally find one that works for you.
Take care, Chrissie
